EUDR enforcement deadline: December 30, 2026

EUDR Training & Compliance Services

Prepare your organization for EUDR and international timber regulations. The postponement is your opportunity to get ahead.

Why Training Now?

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) has been postponed to December 30, 2026 — and at this stage, it remains unclear exactly how the final implementation will look. Technical details, the EU Information System, country benchmarking, and enforcement mechanisms are still being shaped by the European Commission.

That is precisely why training is the right first step. While procedures, costs, and digital solutions cannot be fully defined until the regulation takes its final form, understanding the regulatory landscape and preparing your team is something you can — and should — do now.

Our training covers not just EUDR, but the full spectrum of international deforestation and legality regulations your supply chain may need to comply with.

After Training: Our Commitment to You

Why We Don't Recommend Building Full Solutions Yet

We could build digital compliance platforms and procedural frameworks today — but we advise against it. The Commission's simplification review (due April 2026), pending implementing acts, and the IT system for DDS submissions are all still in flux. Any solution built now would likely need 1-2 full revision cycles as requirements change, costing you time and money twice.

Training is the smart investment now — it prepares your team regardless of how the final details land.

Our Commitment to Training Clients

Once EUDR takes its final form, we will build digital solutions and compliance procedures designed to be easy to implement and fairly priced. Organizations that complete our training program receive a firm commitment: we will support and implement solutions for every training client, with priority access and preferential pricing.

Train now, comply confidently later — with our full support.

What We Have Ready

Automation Engine

Our automation infrastructure is built and operational. When EUDR requirements are finalized, we can rapidly deploy automated due diligence workflows, data collection pipelines, and compliance reporting — reducing manual effort and human error.

Satellite Monitoring

Our satellite monitoring component is ready to track deforestation and land-use change across your supply chain's source regions. Real-time alerts, historical analysis, and geolocation verification — the core of EUDR evidence requirements.

System Integration

Ready to integrate with your existing CRM, ERP, or state databases to create a seamless compliance flow. No need to rebuild your systems — we connect to what you already use and add the EUDR compliance layer on top.

Your Compliance Pathway

1

Training (Now)

Understand the regulatory landscape, your obligations as operator or trader, and prepare your team. This step can and should happen now, regardless of pending implementation details.

2

Procedures & Documentation (When Ready)

Once EUDR implementation details are finalized, we will work with you to develop your Due Diligence System (DDS), standard operating procedures, and risk assessment frameworks. Training clients receive priority access to this phase.

3

Digital Compliance Solution

Deploy our digital platform with satellite monitoring, automated workflows, and integration with your existing systems (CRM, ERP, state databases) — creating a seamless end-to-end EUDR compliance flow.

Romania: Full Compliance Support

For Romanian companies, we go beyond training. We will develop your complete compliance procedures, documentation, and digital solutions to meet EUDR requirements. While detailed pricing for compliance packages depends on the regulation's final form, our automation engine, satellite monitoring, and system integration capabilities are ready to deploy when the time comes.

Who Needs EUDR Training?

Operators

Companies placing relevant commodities on the EU market for the first time or exporting from the EU. Operators bear the primary due diligence obligation and must submit Due Diligence Statements (DDS) through the EU Information System.

Traders

Companies making commodities available on the market after initial placement. Traders must maintain traceability records and ensure they can identify their suppliers and customers throughout the supply chain.

SMEs

Small and medium enterprises have an extended deadline until June 30, 2027, with simplified obligations. However, early preparation is critical — your larger trading partners will require compliance documentation from you well before the deadline.

EUDR Penalties for Non-Compliance

4%

of EU-wide annual turnover — minimum fine

100%

confiscation of non-compliant products and revenue

BAN

exclusion from public procurement and EU market access

Non-compliant companies may also be publicly listed, face criminal penalties in some member states, and lose the ability to place products on the EU market entirely.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the EUDR?

The EU Deforestation Regulation (EUDR), Regulation (EU) 2023/1115, requires companies placing 7 commodity groups (timber, soy, palm oil, coffee, cocoa, rubber, cattle) on the EU market to prove they are deforestation-free and legally produced. It replaces the previous EU Timber Regulation (EUTR).

When does EUDR come into force?

EUDR enforcement begins December 30, 2026 for large and medium operators and traders. Small and micro enterprises have an extended deadline until June 30, 2027.

What is the difference between an EUDR operator and a trader?

An operator places relevant commodities on the EU market for the first time or exports them. A trader makes commodities available on the market after initial placement. Operators have full due diligence obligations including DDS submission; traders must maintain traceability records.

What is a Due Diligence Statement (DDS)?

A DDS is an electronic statement that operators must submit through the EU Information System before placing commodities on the market. It includes information about the product, geolocation of production plots, and the results of the risk assessment.

What geolocation data is required?

Operators must provide GPS coordinates (decimal degrees, 6 decimal places) for all plots of land where commodities were produced. For plots over 4 hectares, polygon mapping is required. For smaller plots, a single GPS point is sufficient.

Is there an EUDR certification?

No. Unlike FSC or PEFC, there is no EUDR certification scheme. Compliance is demonstrated through data — geolocation, supply chain traceability, and Due Diligence Statements. Existing certifications (FSC, PEFC) can support risk assessment but do not replace EUDR obligations.

Who needs EUDR training?

Any organization that places timber, soy, palm oil, coffee, cocoa, rubber, cattle, or their derived products on the EU market. This includes importers, manufacturers, wholesalers, procurement teams, compliance officers, and sustainability managers.

Is EUDR training available in Romania?

Yes. Sustainability Today offers in-house EUDR training in Romania starting from 1,500 EUR. We deliver at your premises with customized exercises for your supply chain. For Romanian companies, we also offer full compliance packages including procedures development and digital solutions.
