1. About Us

SUSTAINABILITY TODAY S.R.L. is a Romanian company. We operate the website sustainability.today and associated services for FSC® and PEFC™ Chain of Custody certification, EUDR compliance, and a digital certification management platform.

2. Acceptance of Terms

By using this website or our services, you agree to these terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the website or services.

3. Services Offered

  • COC certification under our accredited FSC and PEFC scheme — for wood industry companies (forest operations, primary processing, secondary processing, furniture, lumber, pallets, packaging, traders)
  • Internal audit: pre-evaluation and annual surveillance audits
  • COC documentation tailored to the company's activity (manual, procedures, product groups, training records)
  • Digital platform for document management, training, audit, SUMAL integration
  • Optional EUDR support (Due Diligence Statement, geolocation, TRACES reporting)
  • Year-round support for standard updates and compliance

4. Membership Process

Membership in our certification scheme is granted via:

  1. Quote request through the website form or by phone
  2. Eligibility verification and quote issuance (24h response)
  3. Contract signature and invoice payment
  4. Documentation preparation and COC manager training
  5. Internal pre-evaluation audit
  6. FSC/PEFC certificate issuance (typically 2 weeks)

The actual certification is issued by an accredited third-party certification body, based on the audit conducted. Membership in our scheme does not automatically guarantee certificate issuance — it depends on your company meeting FSC and PEFC standard requirements.

5. Fees and Payment

Service fees are communicated individually via quote, based on the type of activity, turnover, and certification scope. Payment is made via bank transfer based on issued invoices.

Annual fees cover: certificate membership, internal audit, documentation, training, ongoing support, standard updates, and access to the digital platform. Optional services (advanced EUDR support, exploitation attestations, on-demand business registry certificate, complex volume management) are contracted separately.

6. Your Obligations

As a scheme member or user of services:

  • Provide accurate and complete information on forms and documentation
  • Comply with FSC-STD-40-004 and PEFC ST 2002:2020 standard requirements
  • Maintain required records (volumes, suppliers, training, internal audit)
  • Allow access to auditors (internal and external) for verification
  • Pay invoices by agreed deadlines
  • Notify any significant change in activity (address, scope, partners)

7. Suspension and Removal of Membership

We may suspend or remove membership in case of:

  • Repeated non-compliance with standard requirements
  • Non-payment of invoices
  • Incorrect use of FSC/PEFC marks
  • False or misleading information

Decisions are communicated in writing with reasonable remediation period when applicable.

8. Limitation of Liability

Sustainability Today S.R.L. is not responsible for:

  • Decisions by the accredited certification body issuing the actual certificate
  • Indirect losses or lost profits from standard non-compliance
  • Issues caused by incomplete or incorrect information you provide
  • Temporary technical interruptions of the platform or website

Our total liability is limited to the value of invoices paid in the last 12 months.

9. Intellectual Property

The website content (texts, images, design, documentation) is the property of Sustainability Today S.R.L. and our partners. Reproduction, distribution, or adaptation without prior written agreement is prohibited.

FSC® and PEFC™ marks belong to their respective owners (Forest Stewardship Council A.C. and PEFC Council). Their use is permitted only per the official standards, after obtaining certification.

10. Privacy and Personal Data

11. Changes to Terms

We reserve the right to update these terms. The current version is available on this page with the last modification date. Material changes will be notified to active members by email at least 30 days before taking effect.

12. Governing Law and Jurisdiction

These terms are governed by Romanian law. Any dispute will be resolved amicably; failing that, jurisdiction belongs to Romanian courts.
